(July 8, 2002, HONG KONG) - Q9 Technology Holdings Limited ('Q9', the
'Company', together with its subsidiaries, the 'Group'; stock code: 8129)
announced today the Group has signed a licensing agreement with Guangzhou
Southern Hi-Tech Company Limited ('Soutec'). According to the agreement,
Q9 CIS will be embedded into the new model mobile phone 'Hi 700'.
Q9 reached a license agreement with Soutec to provide the Q9 CIS platform
including Q9 stroke, Q9 pinyin and associated character with for 'Hi 700',
a new mobile phone model to be launched in August.
The representative of Soutec said, "The evolution of Q9 CIS is a
revolutionary one for of Chinese character input. It offers an effective
alternative makes Chinese input to keyboard and handwriting recognition
system. Embedding Q9 CIS into our product not only allows makes our product
be able to offer a convenient and efficient way for Chinese character
input, but also offer even more peripheral and valued added services such
as SMS and Chinese character game. This in turn boosts the market value
of our products."
